APPLICATION
In view of the pandemic situation in Germany since 2020 and the associated challenges in managing public facilities such as schools and daycare centers, the Verbandsgemeinde Asbach (Rhineland-Palatinate) established a comprehensive COVID-19 hygiene concept in autumn 2020. This concept provides maximum protection for children, students, teachers, educators, and parents. A key driving factor was maintaining in-person instruction by keeping all individuals healthy.
DESCRIPTION
A total of 160 mobile Steribase Plus units were installed in schools and daycare centers. Since then, full closures of schools or daycare centers have not been necessary in the municipality. COVID-19 infections in these areas were only detected in isolated cases. At the same time, the facility operators have recorded a significant decline in both general illnesses among staff and typical seasonally triggered complaints and allergies.
OUR CONCEPT
The mobile units not only reduce the risk of infection. CO₂ monitor threshold values are rarely exceeded due to improved air distribution in the rooms, so mechanical ventilation during breaks is sufficient. Lessons can proceed uninterrupted, and classrooms do not cool down as much during the colder months. In addition, the noise emissions do not disturb ongoing operations – teachers and educators do not need to speak louder, and the children remain calm.
